My name is Dr. Anna McCarter and it is my pleasure to serve as principal at Sevierville Intermediate School! It is my hope that during your years at Sevierville Intermediate School you feel encouraged, supported, challenged to be your best, and that you leave this building prepared academically for the next steps in your journey!  We value honesty, integrity, hard work, and strive for a culture that is respectful and kind. 

This is my 6th year in educational leadership. Prior to becoming principal, I had many leadership experiences including teacher-leader roles, being an assistant principal, and most recently, the Sevier County English Language Arts Supervisor for grades K-6. I also have 9 years of classroom experience teaching both 1st and 5th grades. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and French and Master of Arts in Teaching (K-8) from Carson-Newman College. In addition, I have earned a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from East Tennessee State University. As I continue in my career, it is my desire to set an example for students and teachers that we should always continue to learn!

I am blessed to be a mom to Mattie Kate and Janie and wife to Bryan. Spending time with family and friends brings such joy to my life. In my spare time you can find me watching my children in all of their sporting and music activities, attending and serving at church, or running. I love to travel and spend time outside making memories!
