Student Council News
The Student Council has accomplished several community projects this year. The latest one is a Peanut Butter food drive for the Sevier County Food Ministries. We would like every child to bring in a jar of peanut butter by Wednesday, April 30. The Student Council is also having a Healthy Snack Sale on Wednesday, April 30 to raise money to buy supplies for the school. Thank you for supporting the SIS Student Council.

Guidance News
All grade levels are currently studying No Bullying. All classes are learning the different ways a student can be bullied, and the techniques to use against a bully. The students have designed their own personal No Bullying badge to wear on our No Bullying Day in a few weeks.
No Bullying Pledge
Here in our school,
No Bullying for us.
No hurting for us.
No unfairness for us.
No bullying for us,
No, not in our school.

Wow! Thanks to everyone who came to the BookFair and made it a huge success! We exceeded our goal for our library and will be able to buy some great new materials for our library thanks to your generosity!

We will spend the rest of the year in library getting our New Books reviewed and ready for check-out.

Please continue to send in Box Tops for Education and Campbell's Soup Labels to your child's homeroom teacher to help our school.

Mrs. Bryan's Class
My students are glad TCAP testing is over. They have worked hard all year and deserve some fun. We have field trips, field day, and other fun things planned for the next six weeks along with some hard work to get ready for fourth grade. Hang on for another 6 weeks and summer vacation will be here!

Mrs. Buckner's Class
Whew! We survive TCAP tests. We recently visited Metcalf Bottoms for a habitat program, and we had a wonderful time. Soon we will go to Ripley's Aquarium. The end is in sight - it's hard to imagine the year is almost over. We have a lot of year-end activities coming up, so read the weekly newsletters. The Young Authors' Conference was April 22nd, and we want to congratulate Dru and Megan on a job well done.

Mrs. Cook's Class
We can't believe school is almost over. TCAP is finished. So now we can relax and have fun! Many events are going to take place in May. We have some field trips coming up soon, third grade spelling bee, and field day. We still have some skills to cover, but as you can see, we also have planned some fun things!

Mrs. Miniard's Class
Mrs. Miniard's class worked very hard during TCAPs and everyone was present all week. We celebrated that Friday for such a job well done. Also, we went to Metcalf Bottoms on a field trip and Ranger Mike said we were the best group he had worked with in 8 years. Congratulations to the class. This year has been great!

Mr. Cox's Brilliant Bears
The Brilliant Bears are relieved to have just wrapped up the recent TCAP tests. They can be proud of their superb effort.
Congratulations to the following students:
  1. Hunter O. for earning the March Student of the Month Award. He is a super individual and is very helpful to other students.
  2. Connor for placing in the county 4H picture contest.
  3. Isaac, Zach M., Connor, Zachary, and Kalan for earning their 4H Golden Eagle Award.
  4. Zach M. for being top money raiser for Cub Run.
  5. Connor and Allie for being our Cub Run lap leaders.
In the Good Works area, the Bears raised over $600 for the Cub Run and $30 for MD. They also continue to collect box tops.
For the 5th Six weeks, we continued to have several to make the A and AB Honor Roll. We also continue to have many with perfect attendance. Keep up the hard work!
Way to go bears for another great 6 weeks!

Rawlings' Rockstars
Rawlings' Rockstars are excited about preserving the Earth. During Earth Week, we discussed the importance of saving the Earth's resources and had fun making Chia Pets and recyclable inventions. Also, we are proud of Madison K. and Allison W. for being our class representatives at the Young Authors' Conference. We are working hard to prepare for 5th grade, and we look forward to our field trips and fun days. Rock on Rockstars!

Ms. Scott's Class
Ms. Scott's cubs are having lots of fun now that TCAPs are over. Ms. Scott surprised us with pizza Thursday the 24th. We are looking forward to the walking field trips to Sonic Bowl and to the Sevierville Historic Museum/Courthouse/Town. We will have a play day with watermelon at the Community Center on May 15. Some of our Cubs will be given award certificates on May 29. But we are most looking forward to Field Day!

Ms. Zamora's students worked hard preparing for TCAPs and were rewarded with a field trip to Sam Houston Schoolhouse. We visited the museum and also the schoolhouse that Sam Houston taught in. The students learned about the life and accomplishments of this fascinating individual. We also received compliments from the staff for our outstanding behavior. Way to go!
