Title I
Sevierville Intermediate School is a school-wide Title I School. Title I schools must comply with the qualifications of teachers and paraprofessionals as outlined in NCLB. Parents of students in Title I Schools may request information about the qualifications of teachers and paraprofessional that instruct their children. Parents of students in Title I schools will receive notification if Sevier County employs a teacher for four or more consecutive weeks that does not meet the highly qualified requirement. Our teachers are highly qualified by the State of Tennessee. By participating in the Title I Program, our school is provided with extra materials and teaching staff to ensure we meet the needs of your child. Federal funds are used to implement staff development programs that keep our teachers current in new ideas for teaching. We are provided materials and equipment to upgrade our school equipment and instructional materials. Each year our school develops an improvement plan to make our school the best it can be. Parents have the opportunity to participate in planning, reviewing of goals and suggesting improvements to our school program. You also have the right to be informed of your student's progress while attending S.I.S. We encourage your involvement in our school and hope to see you at each of the PTO programs where Title I information will be provided for you. For more information, please visit the TN Department of Education Title I Resource Page.

We have had a fantastic start to our new year! We have studied plants, and we have new plants growing all over our classroom. Now we are waiting for our butterflies to burst out of their chrysalises. We love science!

Congratulations to our first Student of the Month--Chloe. We are also proud of all the students who earned a Cub Pride cap and pin for perfect attendance for the first six weeks. We hope that everyone can earn a cap by the end of the year!

The Buckner Buzz
We've had a busy and interesting first six weeks. On October 17th we will be going to the Discovery Center for Planet Talk and Flip the Switch (planets and electricity). Also, it's that time again! We will be working on our Historical Ghosts to be presented October 31st.

The Clark Courier
Our class is off to a great start and working hard to learn as much as we can. I am so proud of our attendance as well. We earned three weeks of perfect attendance during the first six weeks. Way to go!

Cook's Conversations
Wow! The first six weeks is over already! In Science and Social Studies, we have been doing map skills and studying about plants.

This year, my class is excited about reading A.R. books. The students like to come in on Mondays and see who the top girl and boy are that have the most points. We have a big competition going on between the children. Keep reading, class!

Mr. Cox's Brilliant Bears
Wow! One six weeks is in the books and things are going all out with the Brilliant Bears! I am really proud of the effort this class puts forth.

Congratulations to Zachary P. for earning the Student of the Month award for his overall performance and helpfulness in class.

We have been very busy making great looking terrariums, preparing super Social Studies projects and presenting some neat book reports. Perfect attendance for the 6 weeks included 14 students. Way to go bears!

The Student Council will begin the election process soon to elect officers for this year's Student Council. We look forward to another productive year!

Wow! The first six weeks has flown by. We have learned so much about each other and are working hard at being "kids of character." We won the Library Award three times, had the privilege of eating lunch on stage in the cafeteria for good behavior, and continue to work hard at being responsible. What great accomplishments in such a short time. Keep up the good work!
